Final event of 2019 – 2020 Access Alumni Civic Engagement Program in Mariupol 11.06.2020
On June 11, 2020, the final online presentation was held by participants of the 2019 – 2020 Access Alumni Civic Engagement Program in Mariupol supported by the U.S. Embassy and administered by Project Harmony, Inc. (PH International) in partnership with NGOs Mariupol Union of Youth, and Institute of Public Development ‘Ortega-y-Gasset’. RELO Timothy Collins who took part in the final event, thanked the alumni, their trainers and volunteers for their active participation in the Program and community contributions.Access Alumni promoted Media Literacy into Mariupol community. 03.12.2019
Access Alumni have the opportunity to develop their soft skills and promote Media Literacy into Mariupol community. Recently we have conducted a workshop for a wide scope of participants from our city. Students discussed the meaning of media bias and were introduced to several common types of bias. During the session, some ways used to pull the wool over media consumers’ eyes were demonstrated (namely facts, photos, bots and trolls that could be exploited in manipulative ways).

Berdiansk and Zaporizhzhia Access groups helped homeless dogs in Berdiansk dog shelter. Every time of year is a good time to help homeless animals and we had an opportunity to spend time playing with dogs and feeding them. Students drew funny pictures to make gray walls of the open-air-cages better for dogs who live there and for visitors and volunteers who come to the dog shelter to help animals. Unfortunately, there are thousands of homeless dogs and only people can help them. Non-profit organization, Berdiansk dog shelter would not exist without the hard work and dedication of its volunteers. Our Access team tried to help them in their difficult work and it was great experience of collaborative work.

Online newspaper “PRO.berdiansk.biz” On Saturday, October 26, 2019, Berdiansk alumni of the English Access Microscholarship Program, along with teachers from the Berdiansk State Pedagogical University, school No. 5, and city residents joined a number of good deeds done recently in Berdiansk. Access students, together with local residents, decided to ennoble the area around city school No. 5 and the ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ kindergarten. They draw colorful graffiti on the walls and fences over Internet addresses for buying drugs. The neighborhood residents welcomed this initiative and enjoyed very much funny children's drawings.In Vinnytsia, English Language Microscholarship Program has started 01.12.2015
