On April 23, English Language Day. Access students in Kramatorsk took a break from their usual routine, took a different perspective on the English language, and had a fun lesson to learn about the English language. They played guess games to learn about the English language, for example, by guessing which numbers go in these sentences? ‘English is the official language in _____ countries’, and ‘There are _____ letters in the English alphabet.’ Students also checked out the list of the 100 most common words based on Oxford English Corpus to find about the most common words in English. Also, they created their own list and kept updating it as they learned new words! Students said the words out loud and tried to use them in their speaking and writing. Pupils also read sentences from classic novels out loud and discussed how they felt about them, and why they liked them.
