The day commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 and the discovery of DNA's double helix in 1953.
So, students had a chance to explore the mysterious world of DNA while playing Kahoot and watching a video The DNA Journey that helped to understand DNA is not just an acid. It is much bigger than just biology and genetics. DNA is a thing that unites all humanity.
Also, students tried a new kind of remote learning and participated in the DNA Escape Room Challenge by National Human Genome Research Institute. Students not only practiced their English but applied their knowledge and skills in biology to succeed.
During the last part of the lesson, students tried to predict the future of mankind. Their scenarios of possible changes and consequences were wise and reasonable.
The main insight of this day is the following if humans are able to change and improve DNA, we can make this world better and our future brighter.
