Access Dnipro learned about Martin Luther King’s Day 30.01.2021

An on-line lesson included a discussion about Martin Luther King Jr., learning new vocabulary related to civil rights movement. Students discussed significant events related to civil rights, including the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, a massive protest march that occurred in August 1963. Then some 250,000 people gathered in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Access students also practiced describing pictures in pairs, in particular people and slogans, reflecting on freedom to fight for human rights. Students learned about a famous public speech 'I have a dream' delivered by American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. during the March on Washington in which he called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. The on-line lesson also included a motivational activity 'Tree of Dreams and Freedoms'.
