Official opening ceremony was held on-line on April 15, 2021 for the 2020-2022 Access Severodonetsk group. The new Access students were welcomed by representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, Regional English Language Officer Timothy Collins, Grants Coordinator Kathryn Koonce, and Cultural Affairs Assistant Lilia Shylo. During the ceremony, students talked about why they would like to learn English and shared their expectations from the program. Teachers and students told the guests about their first classes and on-line community service activities which they had participated in. For example, students used their creativity and Canvas platform to create amazing anti-bullying posters which were disseminated in the community. They also developed and disseminated among other school youth creative posters about the Access Program. The new Access students were also welcomed by a parent of one of the new Access students, a representative of Luhansk Volodymyr Dahl National University providing its premises for the program activities, and non-government organization PH International administering the Access and Access Alumni Civic Engagement programs on behalf of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
