‘Job opportunities for pupils in Ukraine and the USA’ was a theme of the May 25 Access lesson in Slovyansk. This on-line lesson brought together Access Slovyansk students and junior students of secondary schools in Slovyansk and Kramatorsk which explored various careers. The discussion aimed to encourage consideration of a variety of routes into careers and expand students’ thinking by exposing them to a range of different careers. All participants worked in groups of two to four people. In these groups, students discussed different activities that they could take part in or have taken part in that might be a good opportunity to develop useful skills, including school lessons, off-school activities, such as drama, sports, music, part-time jobs, voluntary work, or a helping to care after a family member, or anything else they could think of.
